Siphanta sp. (genus) (Green planthopper, Torpedo bug)

Order Hemiptera, family Flatidae. Like many other species of Fulgoroidea (planthoppers), the nymphs (immatures) have a bundle of waxy plumes extending from the rear end. Adult Siphanta hold their triangular wings vertically and tightly pressed together; a group of them feeding together on a plant stem can look like little green or brown triangles. They jump and fly when disturbed.
