Thank you, it did seem VERY colourful (pink) for a Chrysodeixis. Is it a native to Australia, as it is coded in Nature Mapr? Majority of localities are above the Wallace Line (except Sulawesi, Bali and Timor), but all are above the (new to me) Lydekker Line. Wikipedia says "In New Zealand, it has been established since 2011."
Seems to be 'Cosmopolitan' ie. not native to Australia, although iNaturl;ist shows many records from coastal easterm Australia. "Found in.Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australasia" (Lepidotera Butterfly House). 'Established in NZ' (INaturalist'. Found identified as 'Ctenoplusia (genus)'' on the Atrlas of Living Australia. The Australian Faunal Directory does not list the species. I have changed its status to 'Ccsmopolitan' in all 3 regions in which I know it has so far been recorded on NatureMapr: Canberra and Southern Tablelands, South Coast and Barwon South West.
