I struggle with these. I was trying to match the very dark, linear markings and then the paler patch markings. We had a similar one previously see Sighting 4583489 I was reading a description of one of the Acropolitis sp on line (I forget which/where) noting the red/russet scales below the thorax. This appear to be relevant to possibly all Acropolitis sp and I catch a hint of them on above specimen.

I'm not 100% sure this is A. canana, see ecample of that specues on NatureMapr Greater Brisbane region. I'm more inclned to think it is A. excelsa.

I cannot find any creditable matches to the wing pattern in the pictures that I have available of 217 Tortricidae species.
Just from this photo, I cannot get any further than Tortricidae.

I am not a taxonomist. I don't know. Probably involves dissection. I don't do that either. According to Common 1990 Epitymbiini larvae feed on dead leaves (very uncommon in Tortricids worldwide) usually Eucalyptus. Archipini largely feed on living leaves from hides made by sewing leaves together. Maybe Epitymbiini moths tend to be browner - dead leaf looking?
